Crowns

Accidents happen, and our goal is to always try our hardest to save your natural teeth. Technology has given us great restoration options to work with, but we’d all prefer to have our real teeth if possible. If you find that one of your teeth is cracked, chipped, or broken, we may be able to repair it with a dental crown!

What Are Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns are artificial caps we can place over your natural teeth. The crowns we provide are custom-made to fit your smile using CEREC® imaging and an in-office milling machine. Plus, you won’t need to make the sacrifice of pulling a tooth. Dr. Freeman will shape your tooth to create a base for the crown, followed by placing and bonding it.

What Are Same-Day Crowns?

Are you looking to get your crowns in just one simple visit to the dentist? Lucky for you, Dr. Freeman offers same-day crowns thanks to our CEREC® machine. This removes the necessity of sending an impression off to a lab to have the crown created. It’s all done right here at our Houston office. Once your restoration is crafted, it’s ready to be placed.

What Are Dental Crowns Used For?

Dental crowns are used for multiple situations and can be utilized with or without a natural tooth as a base. For example, dental implants are capped by crowns by using a connector called an abutment. In other cases, crowns are used after root canals or when a tooth is damaged.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Crowns?

  1. Durable and functions like a normal tooth
  2. No need for a tooth extraction
  3. Increases self-esteem
  4. Protects natural teeth from further decay or damage
  5. Same-day crowns can be placed in one visit
